“Gangnam Style ” The satirical video from a Korean hip-hop artist which has taken the world by storm and has been the inspiration of countless spawned memes. The video which recently made headlines by becoming the fifth “Most Viral Video” of all time, with over 131 million views on YouTube (as on 10th September 2012) in a matter of only 52 days. The video features over-the-top lyrics and antics which flay the hyperconsumer culture of Seoul’s tony Gangnam neighborhood and South Korea in general.
Subsequent to the release of the music video, everything The K-popstar Psy does seems to be making headlines, from appearing on the MTV Video Music Awards to dancing on the street.
