Roberto Mancini failed to get Robin?

Roberto Mancini has admitted that a move for Robin Van Persie, the Arsenal striker is now out of reach.Speaking ahead of the community shield clash with chelsea on sunday,Mancini told his press conference at Carrington that time has all but run out.

"We only have 20 days to the end of the market and i don't think that we have any chance for him,"the Blues chief revealed.

"But I don't want to talk any more about players,my thoughts are now with the game against Chelsea. Now I have to think about the game".

But it is said that Mario Balotelli, the star and David Silva are likely start on the bench for the weekend fixture.Roberto said that Mario and David have had a busy summer and they need more time.

The injuries of Gareth Barry and Micah Richards will both miss out the opening game.Richards are suffering from ankle problem and Richards are not fit for maybe a month.

Looking further down the line to the new season, the City chief said he thinks Manchester United are still the team to beat.

"I think United are the favourite team this year ",he concluded.

Wayne Rooney injured, makes him miss the league for a months

England manager Roy Hodgson will name a squad without Wayne Rooney on Thursday after the Manchester United star was taken to hospital with a horrifically-gashed thigh suffered against Fulham on Saturday.
He looks certain to be ruled out for four weeks, missing two World Cup qualifiers next month.
Rooney, who had been left out of the starting line-up by Sir Alex Ferguson, was in agony after Fulham’s Hugo Rodallega accidentally stamped on his right thigh during a collision in injury-time of United’s 3-2 win at Old Trafford.
